Sustaining through the Wind

"Awake, O north wind, and come, O south wind!
Blow upon my garden, let its spices flow.

Let my beloved come to his garden,
and eat its choicest fruits."
-Song of Solomon 4:16

"Never does He call the north wind, or any other wind, to blow upon His garden without coming Himself."
-Amy Carmichael, Whispers of His Power

The north wind is blowing, Lord. It's really cold in here. Be present, Father, even while the wind blows. And please Lord, let not this wind blow for nothing - let it yield a bountiful spice harvest. Uphold me through this refining. Your will be done.
In Jesus' name,
Amen

Isaiah 40:28-31

Do you not know? Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.

He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.

Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;

But those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint."

Song in the Night

Night
Alone
Dark
Quiet yet fearful
Restless, agony
Tossing, turning, exhausted,
Burdens, no rest
Frustration, tears
Sorrow
Alone
Pain.

Hint
Of a Presence
Soft
Ray of Light
Burdens gently lifted
Peace, quiet peace
A melodic strain
Of a Song
His Song
in the
Night

Psalm 42:8

"By day the LORD commands his steadfast love,
and at night his song is with me,
a prayer to the God of my life."
